10BAAHUBALI: THE CONCLUSION (2017)

The first and the foremost film in the list is ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, a film which redefined entertainment and made India proud all over the world. The movie, which was a sequel to the 2015 epic blockbuster film ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, set new standard in terms of storytelling, canvas and, not to forget, sleek VFX which has never been seen before in any Indian film. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty in lead roles, the movie released worldwide on 28th April 2017 and broke several records within days of its release. It did not perform outstandingly well only in India, but in many other parts of the world also, including the United States.

On 3rd day of its release, the S.S. Rajamouli directed film posed a serious threat to some Hollywood biggies and emerged as number 3 on the US box office. The film was behind ‘Fast & Furious 8’, the eighth installment of one of the most successful film franchises of Hollywood, ‘Fast & Furious’, and a Hispanic-focused comedy. International media applauded the film and wrote positively about it, with some even terming the phenomenal performance of the film in the overseas market a “culturally diverse box office weekend”.

The biggest achievement of the film was that it competed with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars like Emma Watson and Tom Hanks. Their thriller ‘The Circle’, which failed to garner positive response for itself, opened with $9.3 million while ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion pulled in $10.1 million despite a lower screen count of just 420 screens. ‘The Fate of the Furious’, which was allotted 4,000 screens could rake in just approximate $19 million. ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ continued its steady performance in the coming days also. In just its first seven days of release, the film minted more than $13 million, which was as epic as the film itself. It is interesting to note that the prequel, which released in 2015, had earned just $9.3 million in the US in its lifetime.

TRIVIA: ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ is the first ever Indian film to earn 1000Cr INR in worldwide box office. It achieved this milestone on 10th day of its release.

  1. It goes both ways. Bollywood heroes are flop in South. It actually shows Indian society is sexist misogynist chauvinist patriarchal, all India.

  2. The whole premise on basing top ,10 movies in USA is [email protected] incorrect Bollywood /Sollywood (Southee-Kerala-TN-Telgu-Kanad) movies are seen by Indians only ,maybe some Pakis too No White/Black/Hispanic watches them So when Bahubali scores say 100 crores it is money spent by Desis of various colors only And if The Tom Hanks movie makes say 700 crores it is money spent by non-Desis Secondly Desi stars are popular with Desis only-one or two females like Priyanka or Deepika have made a film or two but are like extras No male actor -even- our 3 Midget Khan’s too is known except by Desis — so this Top 10 thing is BullShit

  3. Dude
What’s South India or North India all one
Indirectly you are putting racism comments
Here they made return flight tickets to heroines before start of the shooting what’s that mean….they are perfectionist in all ways, exact timings, they do movies on time. Show me the same in Bollywood

  4. Almost i read each comment from the respective person viewpoint i found that we are lacking the basic idea about what movie and cinema is. Today in the world of competive market we the people have been seeing the movies and not actual cinema which is highly made for commercial gain and not for any informative purpose. If from my point of view i consider the cinema as the medium of language which can communicate you the causes and effects society is facing and shed them with proper solution to get rid of all irregularities. Few of the cinema (not movies) i watched like Bicycle Theives, Rosomon, Satyajit Ray’s films Pather panchali, anurag kashyap’s black friday, That girl in yellow boots have the ability to create a sense of knowledge through their approach by realism and trust me if anyone will go through those cinemas then we get to learn the bolloywood industry and even the vernacular industries like south etc are just showing us what is meant for nothing worthy. A boy fights for the girl with hundreds of people solely. Some songs Tu Haan Kar Ya Na Kar Tu Hai Meri Kiran, means what the hell the song meant ,whether u accept or reject you are mine Kiran at any cost such must are just a crap and cannot be considered as films.

    • Sir it’s not like everyone wants the same language you want to see. Yes Cinema is a way of reflecting society and it’s language , but you must not forget that afterall Cinema is for entertainment and for mass it’s just an 3 hrs of entertainment. Who will invest his money in a nonprofit business so commercial is not a bad thing we do have a choice to watch it or not . Ofcourse there are movies which depicts our society and they are also produced in due course along with the rest but u know it is liked by very few audience

2ndly : The song ” Tu Haan kar ya na kar … ” From movie Darr started by Sarukh khan . It was a sense bro as the movie was based on a lunatic lover who was mad in onesided love of a girl and wanted her forcibly. That’s what the song also speaks about him.

  5. Hello Kumar Subham not all the films in the south were not crap and might if you saw director “Krish Jagarlamudi” movies you’ll know what a movie is how much influence to society and south movies some were deeply connected to society and also to get rid of insecurities like you’ve said and one thing Bahubali is not Bollywood movie it’s Native is from South Tollywood movie purely Telugu movie.
