‘Ra.One’ is a sci-fi superhero flick directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Gauri Khan and Bobby Chawla. It featured Shah Rukh Khan in the main lead. Alongside SRK, the movie also had Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Armaan Verma in principal roles. ‘Ra.One’ revolves around Khan’s Tamilian character, Shekhar Subramanium. He is a game designer who once designs a motion sensor-based game which has an antagonist more powerful and dominant that the protagonist, G.One. One unfortunate day, Ra.One breaks out of the virtual world and enters the real world with his destructive intentions. He wants to kill Lucifer, the game ID of Shekhar’s son and the only player to have challenged the infinite power Ra.One possesses. How G.One comes out of the virtual world and defeat Ra.One is what the film is all about.
Upon its release on 26th October 2011, ‘Ra.One’ was welcomed with mixed reviews by critics. However, the audience quite liked the film and gave positive feedback. Critics who praised the film described it as an ambitious venture and a technological success. Some critics even went onto say that the movie had put Indian films on par with Hollywood. The action sequences were also widely praised along with the costume Shah Rukh wore in the film. It gave him a completely new look which the audience appreciated a lot. In the film, SRK is seen in two avatars – Shekhar Subramanium and G.One. For his real life character, SRK has curly hair, while his robotic character sports spikes and short hair with a spectacular body suit. The special suit was designed by Robert Kurtzman and Tim Flattery, and made by a team of specialists based in Los Angeles. The audience loved his superstar in both of his looks.
